Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Comfortable Grip, VALUE!!

Cons: More point on the blade is needed for "detail" work. But hey, get a caping knife if that's what your doing...right tool for the job!

Comments: Great knife for making quick work after the kill!

Best Use:  Hunting/Field Dressing

Katadyn MicroPur Tablets
Pros: Easy to use, effective. Lightest weight solution available.

Cons: Taste & Colorization of water. Package was difficult to open without a knife.

Comments: Tablets disolved within minutes. Suggest waiting 1/2hr+ to drink the water. Water taste was poor right after the tablets disolved but improved significantly after wait time. Could mask unsavory taste with powdered drink mix if in a hurry...or get over it and just choke it down.

Best Use:  Emergency Kits

Pros: Size and packability.

Cons: Size - if you plan to put a frypan on it. This is not the right stove for gourmet meals.

Comments: REALLY neat little, L-I-T-T-L-E stove. Folds up small and fits in the belly of the fuel canister. Great little stove to have in your pack for those breaks where a cup of fresh joe would really hit the spot. Boils a cup of water in just over a minute. Cools off quick so you can pack it up and hit the trail.

Best Use:
Ideal for minimalist hikers - GREAT for the drop-camp hunter to take out on the trail for the day.

Pros: Kershaw Quality - Durable, sharp, Good Finish, super Ergonimics!

Cons: Bottle opener "flange" could be a little more aggressive but it works (pretty well I must say...)

Comments: One of Tripper's Picks and has become a HOT seller - for good reason! REALLY convienient set of basic tools. Carabiner style multi-tool ensures an easy reach. Every pack should have one hanging from it!

Best Use:
Just hang it on your pack - you will find MANY uses for it and it will always be within reach.

Pros: Quality Feel, Durable, Efficient Use of Fuel, Versatile Cooking Applications, worked equally well on 1lb and 20lb tanks.

Cons: Piezoelectric igniter worked sporatically (show me one that doesn't), Size (tablespace) consumed.

Comments: Excellent value for the dollar. Very effective stove (even heat, good controls) and easy on fuel-what a plus! The stove sustained use as well as abuse over an extended period. Stayed outside for several weeks, was dropped while loading, and transported in the back of an open top Jeep - surviving with little more to show from the trial than some faded paint.

Best Use:
This stove will suit small to medium groups of car camperrs extremely well. Although not a backpack stove, it would serve well in an outfitter's drop camp much better than the "mainstream" gas stoves on the market. This stove also works great at home for the "campground meal" feel when you just cant' get out.
